Northampton Saints’ Kiwi scrum-half Mark Robinson wastes part of his life answering our inane questions…
Q. What was your favourite cartoon character as a kid?
A. Road Runner. I loved the way Coyote came up with imaginative ideas which imploded when they should have worked. I hoped that one day he'd catch him!
Q. Which team-mate would you least like to fight and why?
A. I wouldn't want to fight any of them.
Q. How many profiteroles can you eat in one sitting?
A. Easily four or five. After a main course though!
Q. And how many donuts?
A. I'd go through a good dozen of those. Cinnamon donuts as well.
Q. What was the best rugby tour ever?
A. My first All Black tour in 1997 to the UK. Everything was a new experience in All Black culture and everything that came with it – the way we were treated and the support we got.
Q. Who thinks he's the best player in your team and why?
A. Johnny Howard - because someone's got to!
Q. What was your most memorable team-talk?
A. When I was captaining North Harbour. It was a crunch game against Canterbury and we were the underdogs. We went out and beat a team stacked full of All Blacks.
Matt Lord was playing for us as well.
Q. Who’s the worst-dressed player at Northampton?
A. Chris Ashton still dresses like he’s from up north.
Q. Ever squealed like a girl in a game? If so, why?
A. I didn’t squeal but I did fear for it when someone grabbed my nuts in a game. It was against a French team – can’t remember who though.
Q. Who would you most like to streak at one of your games?
A. I wouldn't mind Jordan actually!
Q. And who would you least like to streak?
A. Sharon Osborne
Q. What's the best thing to happen to you in rugby?
A. Being picked for the All Blacks.
Q. And the worst?
A. Probably not being contracted by the NZRU in 2002 which ultimately led to my leaving New Zealand.
Q. Tell us something about you not many people know?
A. I have a dog - a King Charles Spaniel called Harry.
Q. Favourite joke?
A. I'm not a big joke fan.
Q. What's the best wind-up you've seen?
A. The boys are always taking the piss and winding each other up. Nothing in particular stands out though.
Q. What's your best talent outside of rugby?
A. I make a mean banana cake!
Q. You have one day to live - what do you do?
A. I'd probably through the biggest party and go out with a bang!
Q. What's your most prized possession and why?
A. My dog at the moment because he's the only one who keeps me sane at the moment. He doesn't give me any grief!
Q. Any new years' resolutions?
A. Just to make a couple more good investments.
